New England Coffee continues coffee donations to troops in Baghdad, Iraq
March 2007
New England Coffee Company continues to support troops stationed in Iraq with donations of coffee and equipment. On a monthly basis, New England Coffee will send cases of coffee to military personnel stationed at Sather Air Force Base in Baghdad, Iraq.
The program developed when New England Coffee was approached by Thomas Jastermsky, a deacon at the First Congregational Church in Wallingford, CT. Mr. Jastermsky assumed the role of coordinator of donations sent to Holy Joe's Café at Sather when a church member and veteran mentioned the requests by troops for coffee. Holy Joe's Café is an informal coffee house where members of all military divisions can seek respite and enjoy a cup of coffee.
This program allows New England Coffee to continue to support our troops for as long as is necessary. It was also recently featured in an article in the Hartford Courant.
